Family policies

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

What to wear and bring

Send a hat, a filled water bottle and sunscreen already on. Campers wear a swimsuit under their clothes every day and bring a towel, a dry shirt and closed-toe shoes for the field and the woods. A swim shirt is welcome. Lunch comes in a cold pack, and everything carries your camper's first name. Phones, toys and anything valuable stay home.

The swim test and life jackets

Every camper takes the swim test on the first morning, in the roped shallows with a counselor beside them. The test places the camper in the shallow area or the deeper area. Campers who haven't taken it, or who would rather not, swim in the shallow area in a life jacket. Life jackets are worn on the dock and in every boat. A lifeguard watches the water at every swim, and you are welcome to watch from the beach.

Drop-off and pickup

An adult on your list signs your camper in and out at the pavilion door. We ask for ID until we know you, and we call you before a new adult comes to collect. Camp ends at 4:00 p.m., and late care runs until 5:30 p.m.

When to keep your child home

A camper with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home and comes back after a full day of feeling well. If a camper feels ill at camp, we call you, and a counselor stays with them until you arrive.

Meals, snacks and allergies

Lunch comes from home in a cold pack. Camp serves water, a morning snack and an afternoon snack. Tell us about allergies and medicine at registration, and we ask what we need privately once you enroll.

Storms, heat and closures

When thunder is heard, everyone leaves the water and the dock and waits indoors for the lifeguard's all-clear. On very hot days, swim blocks run longer and games move into the shade. If a storm closes camp for the day, we call and text families before 7:00 a.m.

Screens and phones

Campers don't need phones or tablets at camp, so they stay home. A camper who wants to call you can use the phone at the pavilion, and we call you if we need you.
